Washington, DC] – The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP) proudly announces the appointment of Monica Ray as the Convener of the District of Columbia Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR), a signature program of the NCBCP.
Monica Ray, a dedicated community developer hailing from Southeast DC by way NC, assumes the role of Convener to lead the BWR’s mission of bringing together Black women for intergenerational leadership development, mentoring, empowerment, and power-building initiatives in the District of Columbia. With a commitment to championing justice and equitable public policies, Monica Ray will play a pivotal role in promoting racial, economic, and gender justice.
The BWR, at the forefront of advocacy, focuses on shaping public policies that center on racial, economic, and gender justice. Key elements of their mission include promoting health and wellness, economic security and prosperity, education, and global empowerment for Black women and girls.
Monica Ray’s appointment reflects a strategic move towards fostering community engagement and leadership in the pursuit of positive change. The NCBCP and BWR are confident in Monica Ray’s ability to continue advancing the organization’s impactful initiatives in the District of Columbia.
